Playtech is growing outside USA
One of the leading online gaming software providers, Playtech, adoptded new strategies to consolidate their position in the non-US markets after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), signed on last October 13 in USA.
Playtech decided to shutdown all of US activities and stop taking wagers from US players before the new law was signed by President Bush, and adopted a new policy to diversify its portfolio. One of the decision taken recently by the group, as written previously at casinoimpact, is to expand their poker network acquiring part of Tribeca Software, a large online poker platform including several well-known poker rooms. As a result of the deal with Tribeca, it's expected that Playtech's poker revenues will significantly increase in 2007.
Playtech also announced that incomes coming from non U.S. players increased to 53% this year, and poker revenues increased by 275% compared to the same period on 2005. Total revenues increased by 4% on the previous quarter of 2006, and by 104% comparing last year's revenues.
Playtech increased the number of licensees in Europe and Asia, and stopped licensing its software to operators who still accept bets from US citizens. The leading software provider is powering award winning online casinos like Casino Tropez, Europa Casino, Vegas Red and Club Dice Casino, which offer great casino games and high jackpot prizes.
