Ladbrokes soon into italian market

Ladbrokes' chief executive Christopher Bell said that the company could start operations in Italy within few months, and thay also have new plans to enter into the Spanish market early in 2007.

This announcement came after the publication of a financial update that showed bad results in October regarding football and horse-racing wagers, hitting the company's revenues.

"We are on the road. We will start in Italy from next summer". Bell also added that they are trying to approach the Spanish market: "We hope to make an announcement about it early next year".

Total revenues at Ladbrokes this year increased by 5%. Bell said that he had not seen the European market becoming more difficult after the new anti-internet gambling law recently signed in USA.
