Optimal Group plans for the new year

The company Optimal Group Inc announced these days their third quarter results and their plans for the coming new year. After the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) signed on last October 13, 2006 by President George W.Bush, their subsidiary FireOne Group had to stop transactions coming from U.S customers. This event will have a negative impact during 2007.

Total revenues for the third quarter of 2006 were $53.31 million compared to $35.81 million registered during the same period of last year. As a result of the new anti-gambling law, the company recorded a loss of $1.90 million, but Optimal Group's balance remains solid.

Company plans for 2007 are to create strategic banking relationships with international merchants based outside U.S. Optimal Group intend to invest on their e-wallet payment processing platform, expanding their customer base internationally and providing the multi currency functionality. The company, through their subsidiary FireOne, intend to establish a strong position in Internet-based financial services and peer-to-peer money transfers. (N.W).
