ROULETTE Rules

Roulette comes from the French term for "small wheel". Many variations of this game have been around for thousand of years. Legend says that Roman soldiers used to play games on the spinning wheel as a diversion between campaigns. Another legend tells of monks bringing a wheeled game back from China in the middle ages. The casino game of roulette became famous in Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries, especially in Montecarlo (France).

Roulette is today the best recognized icon symbolizing the glamour, fun and prestige of high class casino gaming.

The European Roulette wheel is divided in 37 spaced slots numbered 0, and 1 through 36. The zero slot is green, while the other numbers on the wheel are either red or black. The dealer spins the wheel in one direction and releases a small ivory ball in the opposite direction into the outer edge of the wheel. The ball then falls toward the centre of the wheel and drops into a slot.

En Prison Rule (European Roulette)

When a player applies the En Prison Rule, he can keep half their even-money outside bets when the result of a spin is Zero (0), or have an "all or nothing" chance on the next spin of the wheel.

This rule applies when there is Zero (0) as a result, only to even-money (1:1 odds) outside bets. Players can choose to place their whole bet "En Prison" and wait the outcome of the next non zero result, or they can surrender half the bet immediately, or make new bets. When the spin wil have a number different from 0 as a result, the "En Prison" bet will be resolved.
